Build a starter character

When you start to build your character be sure to enter things at a steady pace, being sure to let the screen finish updating before you save things.

If the character builder and the rules disagree, the rules are correct. Let us know and we can work to fix any problems.

Add notes on Food Allergies

Adding notes on Food Allergies will help our kitchen staff since we provide Food from late Friday through midday Sunday. And any medical notes we need to know or have handy to pass on in case we need to call a service.

Register for the event

Register for a specific upcoming game of ours as a PC

Let us know about Housing

All our housing is in Cabins on site which have 3-4 double bunks with good mattresses. Plan to bring sleeping bags or bed linens.

If you are staying off site mention that in the box labeled Housing when you register.

If you are coming with friends and want to share the same cabin please let us know in that same box next to the label Housing.

We should have enough beds for all pre-registered attendees

Make sure you include a note under Housing if you need a bottom bunk, as we have several folks who needed them for practical or medical reasons.

Sign the Waiver

If you have not done this this year,

Print out the Accident Waiver, fill it out, and bring it along. (Or scan it and email it back to logistics at kaurath.com if you happen to be able to)

Make sure you are up to date on the COVID rules at the moment.

The current rules are on the front page and here. (Generally we ask folks have get their vaccinations, be free of symptoms, and have a negative rapid test during the 24hours before the event starts. Talk to logistics if any of this is an issue, maybe we can help. For example, we always try to have a few spare tests and masks at Logistics, Cabin 17. )

Review the Rules for the highlights

First look at Chapter 0 for our general philosophy of gaming.

If you know Accellerant

If you know the core system we use, called Accelerant, then you probably just want a copy of the one page summary around. And can probably read all the header in detail.

If you are new to Accelerant

Here is the very short summary

Most calls you hear will be Effect by Trait such as "2 Damage by Fire". If there is no call any weapon blow does one (Uncalled) damage. Any packet without a call is an arrow doing one (Uncalled) damage. After three blows (a flurry) take a breath, check that you are not too close, then continue. The rest of the calls are pretty obvious and somone should be with you on each adventure/module to help if needed. A summary of all the effects which are not obvious can be found here.

Damage goes against your Armor, then and "Protection" effects on you from skills, then your Vitality

When you run out of vitality fall down.

If the last damage was uncalled while unconscious you are stable and will recover to 1 Vitality after five minutes.

If the last damage was a called number instead you are unstable and bleeding out. After one minute you will die, become a Spirit, and you and your body and ger in hand will all go to resurrect. Feel free to just come to Logistics and we can walk you through the process.

If you are unsure about anything in combat either take it and fall down if that seems sensible, or ask for clarification by saying "Clarify?" or "Clarify WordYouDontGet?" and they should say "To Clarify: and a true explanation"

If you want to take a little more time and review the full rules they are in Chapter 1 of the rule book .

When you arrive let the staff know you are interested in practice and the new player modules. These modules are designed for new players and NPCs to review the rules in game and out and to practice. We try and run new player modules regularly to remind folks of the basic rules.

Pay for the event

Click here to go to our payment page to pay for the events. New players get 1/2 off on their first two events.

Paying early will give your character an extra bonus depending on how many other people pay in advance. The details are announce on the Facebook group and the Discord server

Get Ready for Game

Pack well, makes sure you are not feeling sick, test negative, have all the needed vaccinations, grab your vax card or just send logistics a photo of it, grab your release if you have not emailed it to logistics (or fill one out on-site), and head over.

Show up. Look awesome, be awesome, have fun!

Someone will be handling check-in on site either in the Tavern or roaming around holding a checkin Box or sitting in Logistics aka Monster Camp aka Cabin 17, see the map, the first cabin on the left of the road over the bridge and up the hill.

It will be amazing.

If you can arrive in the 4-6pm Friday window and help set up that is a big plus and earns extra CP (the points used to build characters) but we appreciate all the time you can contribute.

When you arrive check in at Cabin 17. Let us know you are here to PC and if you are new to Kaurath or Accelerant let us know that as well. If you need a copy of the site map it is available on line, here.

After the event submit a Post Event Letter to let us know how things went and what In-Between Game Actions your character will be working on at https://forms.gle/VfUNn1p6zmGNnYqX9
